most Not responding actually means program is too busy and you should wait,
often for several minutes, and not responding message will go away.

I have noticed this occurs when loading a file, saving a file, when a large
spreadsheet is loading and "Adjusting column width" or "Adjusting row height"
message appears. OO is not responding fast enough to the operating system and
the operating system is reporting a "Not Responding" error.

One work around is just to ignore the error, do not enter any more keystrokes,
and take a short break to allow the program to catch up. This is better than
trying to force the issue with Ctrl+Alt+Del which can result is loss of work.
(If this happens recover is usually successful at restoring file with minimal
work loss. Sometimes lock file is corrupted and you must SAVE AS a new file
name, and after saving file, manually delete the lock file, then the original
file will be editable and the SAVE AS file will be a backup.)

A more permanent fix would be to include faster feed back to user that file is
being saved or loaded, include extra commands internally to respond to operating
system heartbeat, and to inhibit multiple sequential save or load commands of
same file with busy indicator instead of trying to complete the user keyboard
requests.
