When I save Chain-eachGoddess1-9.jpg in correct folder on my HDD, it will be
opened correctly with IrfanView after click on the Thumbnail in
"ClickHereSample4b.pdf", what is selected in my WIN settings as default
application for .jpg

Unfortunately your report isn't exactly what I asked for, and it leaves many
questions:
- Why do you believe that "Chain-eachGoddess1-9.jpg" should be opened with
"Painter.exe"
- With what application will "Chain-eachGoddess1-9.jpg" be opened
- from WIN File Explorer (double click)
- from link in "ClickHereSample4b.odt"
- From links in other documents (HTML page or similar)
The document should be opened with the application selected in WIN settings (WIN
Explorer -> Folder Options -> File Types). What are your settings?
I really really doubt that your "problem" has to do with OOo.

Pls. feel free to reopen the issue if you find out that the problem still exists
in a current stable version and if you can contribute requested additional

May I ask you to read our guidelines on

<http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html> before you file
further issues or post again here? Then please contribute a clear step by step
instruction containing all observations (error
messages ...), EVERY key press and EVERY mouse click how to reproduce the
problem, AND explain why you believe that your results are unexpected.
That means (for example):
do not write something like "I am not able to ...", but
6. left mouse click on …
expected: …, color of … changes, …
actual: no …., color remains white, no …
