Requests here are most likely to get attention if they
a) focus on a single, specific topic, and
b) spell out as clearly as possible exactly what is needed.

I believe the underlining you mentioned is covered by Issue 23839.

This is possible with Calc's current number formats, using a custom number
format, something like this: #,##0.--;(#,##0.--);--

  |     Value |   Formatted |
  |-----------+-------------|
  |  12345.67 |   12,345.67 |
  | -12346.67 | (12,346.67) |
  |     12345 |   12,345.-- |
  |         0 |          -- |

If that's not what you're after, please give some clear examples showing the
values and the formatted display.
