@OS: strange thing!
As described, in the Index dialog, travel *with the keyboard* (does not happen
with the mouse) up/down in the "type" listbox from "Table of contents" until
"Bibliography" and back.
Each time, the "Additional Styles" chooser will jump some 3-4cm to the left
until it disappears.
Found broken since 3.1 (still ok in 3.0.1).
Curious: since 3.1 also the chooser in front of "Outline" has disappeared from
the UI and I didn't see an UI feature on this... >;)
Maybe the same root cause?
