The documentation decribed that an office process is required to run this
example. So i can't see a bug here. The example was not designed to show the
best error handling, it shows how to connect to an office and not more. If no
office is running the exception is caught, printed to stdout and the program
terminates. In a more real life scenario you would probably do a more
sophisticated error handling or something else.
