------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Apr 25 13:05:56 -0700 2005 ------- My problem is that when I create a new word processing document, format it to my likeing, type a page worth of text and try to save the document, openoffice 1.9.9* crashes and gives me a message saying it can autorecover (or something like that) which opens an unformatted, blank document. The issue I want fixed is the crash. Here are the steps that lead to the crash: 01) Start a new text document. 02) Format the page magines to 1". 03) Turn heading on. 04) Decrease heading spacing to .10" (space between heading and body of doc). 05) Put a line under the heading. 06) Add to heading (tab) (tab) Page <insert:page number> : <insert:page count>. 07) Format paragraph first line to 0.30". 08) Double space lines. 09) Type one page of text. 10) Save the document. This has been an issue with openoffice 1.9.91, 1.9.93 and 1.9.95. My computer setup is as followes. It is a Clevo D470W notebook, a 3Ghz P4 processor. I am using gentoo linux and the openoffice-bin ebuild which uses the prebuilt linux install. The file system I am saving to is ReiserFS 3.6 on a 2.6 Kernel. The problem happened both with kernel 2.6.11 and 2.6.12-rc2. I can save existing documents just fine. The crashed save creates a blank document which I can format and add to just fine. It only crashes when I am trying to save a formated text document to the hard drive when the document does not yet exist on the hard drive. I have tried saving to different locations but it still crashes. Let me know if there is any information you need which I have not included. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
