------- Additional comments from [email protected] Wed Jun 9 12:13:53 +0000 2010 ------- This might be a little hard to set up, but in the attached .ods the text is in"Liberation Serif", so assuming that this font is installed then the height of the line will be taken from that font. That font doesn't have any Indic characters, so assuming that "Lohit Bengali" is installed and is the only font that can supply the glyph then that should reproduce the scenario that the top of the Indic glyph extends up beyond the space that the base "Liberation Serif" font occupies. There's no noticeable problem until you e.g enter another character into the start of the line using the glyph, then the top of the Indic glyph which extends out of the line will be "left behind" when it shifts to the right.
