afaik it's not possible to delete the buildin paragraph styles, see
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/Text/Overall_Document_Features,
even if i delete them from documents "styles.xml" ... they still exist...

we have a lot of writer templates ("original") where users will have to fill 
text 
into named textframes and textsections. these frames/sections are copied during
our printing process to a second template ("draft" or "copy") which has (for
example) different headers/footers. 
cause users can change paragraph styles in the "original" doc, the draft doc 
may differ from the "original" doc :-(
as mentioned above, ms word seems to import style properties during
paste operation as long as the style was not used in the "draft" doc -
oo does not and has no possibility to remove the build in styles...
