a) that patch is used 1:1 already in my 3.2.1 builds, and it picks up a
libmythes-1.2.so.0 dep
b)

checking MYTHES_CFLAGS...
checking MYTHES_LIBS... -lmythes-1.2
I think you mean --with-system-libs? Your patch suggests that...
