Additionally, the official latest stable release is the one I'm using: 3.2.0. I have another idea: have OO any logs I could take and send you? If the export PDF (see bug 112754) or printing function are facing some problem to generate the output file, certainly they should have logged something. Look, this is a annoying problem that only Writer has. Remember, Calc an Impress are ok!
