I do not think that this is the main problem, actually the text is part of the
rectangle so it does not get a shadow inside the rectangle. If you want a shadow
for the text select it and go to format/Character/FontEffects and click the
shadow checkbox.
BUT: if you do this and you give a separate shadow to the rectangle then you
will have 3 (!) shadows...and this is definitely wrong.
