You can set the text of drawing objects like ellipse or rectangles using the
'text' property. The settings are more sophisticated than it would be by using a
mouse. Please have a look at chapter 10 of the drawing guide, starting with:

There are several ways to enter the edit mode of a drawing object, for example
you can press F2. You can set different ways how an object react to double-click
or singe-click in Tools > Options and with the buttons on the toolbar "Options".
I do not understand your problem with scaling. However, because scaling is a
different topic, you should write a new issue for scaling. We cannot handle
issues, which deal with several topics.
Please try to describe your proposals in a way that using "like in application
XYZ" would not be needed, because readers of the issue likely do not knew that
application.
