------- Additional comments from [email protected] Tue Jul 20 14:27:47 +0000 2010 ------- Hi, (0. Be sure, that Tools > Options > "... Calc" > View > Text overflow is activated) 1. Write text which is too long for a cell A1 and some text in the cell B1 (right to it). 2. Format cell A1: Alignment > "Wrap text ..." and Text orientation not 0 degrees (here as an example 90 degrees which I often use). The text of cell A1 goes into the text of cell B1. Normally, there should be the text overflow behaviour with the red arrow. Maybe this is only a Ubuntu/Debian ooffice bug, but I guess it isn't. If it's the case: sorry. Then, I will file it there. Remarks: * The red arrow isn't also shown if the "Wrap text ..." is deactivated. * Text overflow works for example with orientation = 100 degrees (on the left side). * Orientation > 180 degrees: the text is upon other cells somewhere to the right.
