The parameter of DAYSINMONTH is a date, not the number of a month. Therefore in
DAYSINMONTH(12) the value 12 is interpreted as the serial number of a date. If
your start date is 1899-12-31 (which is the default), then DAYSINMONTH(12)
means, "tell me how many days has the month of 1900-01-11".
