ka=>atjensen: The insert>movie feature uses the Microsoft DirectShow API and as
such is able to support all file types for which an appropriate (MS
MediaPlayer) Codec is installed on the system. The insert>object->Video instead
relies on installed browser plugins on the system and displays the movie as an
applet inside the document, which is more of an old style feature to allow
embedding of media files into the document.
Please check if you have all appropriate codecs installed on the system. Care
needs to be taken with several Quicktime plugin packs, because we had several
crashes inside them from time to time. Best idea would be to install one of the
AllInOne codec packs available (e.g. CCCP). Could you verify this, please.
DRM may also be a possible cause for this behavior.
