I suggest to open a new issue for the latest problem to avoid confusion between
- the glyph exceeds the font boundaries even in design space
- the glyph exceeds the clip bounds for some hintinig/antialiasing/embedding
setting for some zoom
levels on some devices
The former was solved with this issue, the latter was introduced with issue
64508, which expanded the
configuration possibilities for hinting modes. The only way to solve that is to
modify the gamma yet again
until all tests for different hinting modes, zoom levels etc. look satisfactory.
