Steps to replicate:
1. Create an empty presentation on MAC OS X.
2. Insert a new slide.
3. Under "Slide Transition" go to "Sound" and from the drop down menu select any
sound (this will play when you transition from one slide to the next).
4. Save as .odp, and load the file in Linux x86_64 (I used Ubuntu).
5. Play the presentation, or simply check under "Slide Transition" under "Sound"
transition sounds have been lost.

Steps can be taken in the same order creating in Linux and opening in Mac,
results will be the same.

After some follow-ups I discovered that this issue is not only present between
Linux and Mac, I replicated with Windows 7 (OOo version 3.2.0), XP (OOo version
3.2.0), Ubuntu 9.10 (OOo version 3.1.0) and 10.04 (OOo version 3.2.0); creating
a presentation in any of these OSs and opening in any other OS different from
where created the transition sound will be lost.

This issue does not occur with .ppt files regardless of if they were MS
PowerPoint created or OOo created.
A presentation file created in Windows 7 in OOo with transition sounds retained
its transition sounds when opened in MS PowerPoint as well as in OOo in MAC and
vice-versa.

Also, I'd like to add this is NOT data loss since the data is there; however, it
is not read. After opening the presentation in Mac and reopening it in Linux
again (where it was created) the transition sounds are still present.
