@bjlockie: the attachment is already a .doc file so it should while loading,
right? Cannot reproduce.
Please detail if you are using the OOo version from our site or the one from
your distro.
In the second case, check that the crash is reproducible using our version too.
Else file an issue to your distro.
As the document contains nothing but the word "test" I suspect a problem on your
(file?) system. Please check what happens with other export format/apps (Ex.
Excel file from Calc).
