------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sun Oct 3 04:31:19 +0000 2010 ------- Sorry I took so long to respond. Attached is the .odt file from whic hI opened Mail Merge. Also attached is a sanitized version (I removed personally identifying information) of the Excel spreadsheet from which the names and addresses were mapped. The program had no problem opening the spreadsheet and mapping the fields. I then selected the letter option without salutation and positioned the address block at 3,4" over and 8.75" down. The next step was to edit the document to bring the table of business cards back onto the same page as the address. I then moved to the next page which created the 354 addressed documents. This stage of the process seemed to go well. I could, if I wanted to (but didn't), edit the individual documents. The process aborted when I attempted to save the documents. If I saved them as individual documents, it worked OK. But, when I tried to save all 354 in a single document, the program aborted with the error message. This happened on both my Windows XP machines (two of them) and my Mac. The Windows error message was more informative than the Mac message. It said, a runtime error has occurred in C++ and the program will close. This happend in the new 3.0.2 release of Open Office (install file for my Windows XP machine was OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe). I downloaded the new version on 28 August and installed it over the 3.0.1 version. To get the documents addressed I uninstalled version 3.0.2 and reinstalled version 3.0.1 (good thing I saved the downloaded installation file). My previous version, which does not give this error is version 3.0.1 OOO300m15 (Build:9379). Hope this all helps. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
