------- Additional comments from [email protected] Thu Oct 14 08:47:07 +0000 2010 ------- Two comments: i) Many thanks to the people who have pointed out the "Tools > Options > Memory > set 'Number of objects' > 'Number of OLE objects' " workaround. To clarify, I would like to add that the 'Number of OLE objects' can be found from the "File > Properties > Statistics" tab. ii) I know this is not the place to start a discussion about extension development but it is a handy place to address interested parties and then maybe continue in an appropriate forum (where?). I'm a FOSS and particularly OOo advocate and as I have already made clear very enthusiastic about CompPad. Until I participated in this bug commentary, I was unaware of ooo-imath. This too looks like a great extension and seems to have some nice features together with the activities of Dmath.org. However, as an engineering user (and definitely not a programmer) I would very much encourage the various authors and developers to consider pooling their efforts and resources to make a few excellent, fully featured and supported extensions rather than several, each of which covers some functions or user requirements. I am in no way trying to suppress individuality, diversity or creativity but time and time again, some of the major roadblocks I am confronted with when suggesting FOSS alternatives to employers or customers is "Yes but it doesn't have enough of the features I need", "A to-do list is very interesting but there's no roadmap to put dates on." or "How do I know it will be developed and supported?". The word synergy is overused but in it's original context (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy) it perfectly describes the energy that drives FOSS. Having stirred up the flames, I'll retire to a safe distance. :) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
