I've had this issue for several versions now. I thought it might be fixed in 
2.0 
Beta but I was horrified to see it was still there! I get this weird font 
corruption where grey vertical lines appear on some characters, most often 'r' 
but I think I've seen it on other characters too. It occurs in all the OO apps. 
It only seems to affect some fonts, most notably Arial. If I drop another X 
window in front of the corruption and then move it away again, the corruption 
disappears. But if I then scroll up and then scroll back to where the 
corruption 
was, it reappears. I don't get this kind of corruption in any of my other 
programs and I use a lot of other programs. I've tried turning off OpenGL and 
anti-aliasing in the options but that didn't fix it. I'm using Xorg 6.8.2 if 
that helps. Here's a screenshot of it...
