If a grammar checker API cannot be implemented for OOo 2.1, here's an idea for
a replacement that should be easy to implement: change the spell checker API
so that the check method doesn't only get the word to check but also two
strings, one with the context on the right side of the word, another one with
the context on the left side (context = maybe 20 words?). A traditional spell
checker can just ignore these strings. I know that this is a compromise and
not a replacement for a full grammar checker API, but it's better then nothing
(e.g. it would be powerful enough to find the then/than error in this
sentence :-)

XSpellAlternatives could be extended to know of a "grammar type error" and it
could contain a small human-readable explanation of the error.
