That feature is called "PageLabels" in PDF; e.g. if you have a document with 20
pages, consisting of 3 pages preface, 15 pages content and 2 pages appendix,
PageLabels would allow to assign roman numerals for the preface, arabic decimals
for the content and decimals with a prefix for the appendix resulting in the
pages "i,ii,iii,1-15,A-1,A-2"
Writer has a similar feature, so we could make use of this.
@od: I could give you an interface that would accept e.g. a sequence of struct,
each strict containing an enum selecting roman (upper or lower), arabic or
(upper or lower) letters (for a,b,c...z,aa ...), a prefix and a starting number.
This is essentially what I need to put into the PDF file; if you need a
different interface, please tell me.
