------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed May 4 00:00:13 -0700 2005 ------- Hi! Thanks for looking into this issue. I have to disagree with the assumption, that "-quickstart" on linux never did anything. :-) I have tested this using the last dev release (1.9.84) that has the quickstart functionality: #/opt/openoffice.org1.9.84/program/soffice -quickstart then in a new terminal: #ps -e | grep soffice 9916 pts/1 00:00:00 soffice 9928 pts/1 00:00:02 soffice.bin So it does start two instances of soffice.bin which do start in the background, no logo no app window. I have tried the suggested " -nologo -nodefault" which, using 1.9.84, does the same thing as "-quickstart". If this is true for any later version then I would consider this issue closed. I then would simply patch the oooqs application to use the new flags. I do not have any access to a recent version of OO on linux so unfortunately I cannot verify this at the moment.
