I also do not have problems to open/insert the png into OOo.
If you are copy/pasting a transparent picture from Firefox into OOo or another
application, then this picture has to be converted into a clipboard format and
on most platforms the clipboard format for bitmaps isn't capable to display
transparent colors, this is the reason that the graphic is broken after
copy/pasting.
