2 is a consequence of 1.
1. The text won't stay in superscript if you only let the AutoCorrection
execute.
Of course, if move and set your cursor directly after the superscript character,
the next character will also have this formatting, just like other formattings
(Bold, italic, color...).
2. In you example, the whole "1st" is already superscript. So it won't get
"more" superscript that what it is. If the the text is already superscript
nothing happens.
