------- Additional comments from [email protected] Fri Feb 4 22:48:06 +0000 2011 ------- I have found a solution to the immediate problem. Opening OO Writer without a file (new) was successful. Then I closed OO Writer completely, and tried to open an existing doc file. This was successful, so opening and closing Writer apparently cleared some error that had prevented opening a file and produced the bug report. I can't judge whether this resolves the issue, but it does fix the local problem for me.
