Whenever content is placed within these cells the number format is automatically changed, which i do not want. For example a few cells have currency number format, but when i accidentilly type letters (a string) in these cells and then correct it to a number again, the number format is changed to "number" instead of currency. It think this is not expected behaviour. The number format should not change automatically in my opinion.
