I have used openoffice writer with no problems concerning the spell checker from new. I recently had to re-install my operating system. I downloaded and re-installed openoffice again. Since then my spell checker does not work. Whenever I try I get a box appears saying spellcheck is complete but no corrections have been suggested in spite of the fact that I have included some deliberate mistakes. I have used the help section and followed the advice. I have gone to tools-options-languages and writing aids and ticked the appropriate boxes for English UK. I have been to format-character-fonts and checked English UK. The little tick mark before the selection is present. I can find nowhere in the format-paragraph menu to select a languge as is suggested. When I try to use the spell checker the box appears saying as above that the check is complete. The text language box at the top is empty and no drop down menu appears when the down arrow is checked.
