With the relaese of OOo 3.4 we will have a new media backend implementation for
Unix: GStreamer, which is then handled as a build prerequisite to build an OOo
release. This solution can be considered our standard Unix implementation, like
DirectShow is the standard - almost always there - implementation on Windows.
The
user doesn'tg have to install a JMF or similar by hand.
