If I do these steps I get an error message: "Filled cells cannot be shifted beyond the sheet", which makes sense. Could you please install the current OOo snapshot 1.9.100 from <http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html> and check the issue with that. There were tons of errors in 1.9.79, most of which which are fixed in the meantime.
