I tried to follow the described steps on FC3 in 680m100 [but not on a Dell
machine since I don't have such a machine... ;) ].
I wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour...
What exactly did you do?
Does it help if you move the ".openoffice.org1.9.100" directory away
(i.e. ".openoffice.org1.9.100_old")?
This will OpenOffice.org create a new ".openoffice.org1.9.100" directory
==> your "handmade" settings will be gone...
set to worksforme...
