2005 -------

1. I've attached an AVI movie showing the issue.

Please watch this first since it shows me trying to bring up the bookmarks.

You can see in the AVI that, if I close and open the document, bookmarks work 
again. It's only the first time I start OpenOffice, where bookmarks fail. If I 
close (exit) the entire application and reload the document then bookmarks 
fail. If I close just the document (but not the whole application) and then 
open the document again, bookmarks work.

All you need to do is open the file in OO2.0beta then right click on the page 
number and the bookmarks don't appear.

It looks like you missed this part of my comment (the fact that I made an 
attachment), when you did the testing.
