JL->goc: Let me summarize and ask a few qestions. You said that you installed a
Sun JRE, right? Is it a 32 or 64 bit version? You can find that out by looking
into the jre/lib folder. If there is a amd64 folder, then it is the 64 bit
version. Where is it installed? (Still in /usr/local/stow ?).
When to locate the JRE manually in the options dialog, then it is displayed and
you can select it. You press the Ok button afterwards. And the next time you
have a look at the options dialog the JRE is not displayed.

Could you attach a javasettings_Linux_x86.xml which can be found in you user
settings (probably in ~/.openoffice.org2/user/config).

As for sablevm, I am not quite sure what you mean. When you open the Java panel,
then the system is searched for available JREs. If one is found then the java
executable is started which runs a small Java program, that prints out the
system properties. Searching for JREs and executing the JREs may take some time.

But cannot make sense of this sentence:
>Additionally, I get to run a few minutes of sablevm each time I have something
>in the Java area, or even only the options dialogue open while switching
>virtual
>screens (in fvwm).

Could you explain?
