We may be on to something here. There are actually three jars in the jre's
classes directory: org.hsql.jar, org.hsqldb.lib.jar, org.hsqldb.util.jar
(they're part of my bank's PC Banking solution).
Looking at the directory structure, I see:
org/hsqldb/*.class
org/hsqldb/lib/*.class
org/hsqldb/util/*.class
i.e. the same namespace as the hsqldb.jar that comes with OOo.
Not quite there yet, though: I've tried selecting an old jre in OOo and removing
all classes from that jre's classes directory, but the problem remains the same.
