Dear OOo Support Staff:

This is an old issue for me as well. It surprises me to no end that a software
support infrastructure as outstanding as OOo otherwise is can ignore and/or
dismiss such an elementary DEFECT in the OOo Writer Word Processing product.

If it gives you any perspective, speaking as a former Microsoft Network Engineer
(medically retired), the inability to easily and transparently print envelopes
makes OOo at any version level a "Not Ready For Prime Time Player". Proper
printing of envelopes is MISSION CRITICAL in any business activity, as well as
schools and any other institution; it also creates a bit of a show-stopper for
home use as well.

M$-Word has this process down cold; it is one thing that M$ has been doing
flawlessly for a considerable period of time. By comparison, OOo has been
putting this off or dismissing this problem going back to 2002. As it turns
out, I personally attempted to bring this problem up previously; I became
extremely frustrated with the delays, dismissals, and denials and was eventually
compelled to abandoned my plans to drop M$O altogether because of this.

I can't believe that i am writing this to you at this time, but I am fed up with
this problem. What does poor "johnfensome" and those of us out here in the real
world need to do to get this relatively simple, minor fix done?

Please clean up your act on this MISSION CRITICAL BUG/DEFECT and get it fixed as
a Priority 1 before you release OOo v2.0. If this is not fixed for OOo v2.0,
not only will I not update to OOo v2.0, but I will use my considerable influence
with others to see to it that they don't either.
