In a document text, I create the formula
"A+1 newline
alignl B newline
alignr C newline
alignc D"
then save the document as equ_OOo2.odt then as equ_OOo2.doc MS Word 97 document.
Then I close the document and reopen the MS Word 97 one:
B, C and D are centered because the formula is
"alignc { stack {
size 12{ ital "A+""1 "} {} #
size 12{B} {} #
size 12{C} {} #
size 12{D} {}
} } {}"
