Several applications can create SVG output, and thus SVG importing would increase significantly the interoperability with them. Of course I hope that the Open Document Format will be as widely supported as SVG, but we are not there yet. The problems pointed out by haui are very important. They should be discussed with the designers of the Open Document Format and taken into account in the future version of the Open Document Format. I think, it is crucial to have an almost one-by-one correspondence.
