2005 -------
1) Open new spreadsheet document
2) Enter a formula that ends with a closing parenthesis, e.g. =SUM(1)
3) In another cell, enter some text, then make the last characters bold
4) Go to formula cell, edit mode, SPACE, BACKSPACE, ENTER
5) Go to text cell, edit mode, CURSOR LEFT
-> the bold font attribute is removed from the text portion
