------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jun 4 02:48:26 -0700 2005 ------- When opening an M$ Word .Doc with bullets OR when assigning a bullet in an OpenOffice text document, the default bullet is a non-printing character. In OpenOffice Ver 1.1.4 the workaround is to go to Format->Tools->Options, Select "OpenOffice.org Writer", "Basic Fonts" and change the "List" font to "Wingdings". Once you do this bullets display correctly in the document AND in the Format->"Bullets and Numbering" dialog. In OpenOffice 1.9.104 the above workaround has no effect. Choosing Format->Styles and Formatting (to show stylist) then select style "Bullets", right click and select "Modify" the dialog shows the font to be "StarSymbol" There is a message below the sample text box showing "This font has not been installed. The closest available font will be used."
