" So gif files wont work. @3: the insert picture dialog shows an option to insert the graphic as link or embedded. Please have a look, above the preview checkbox. @4: depends what you choose. insert/object/ole object/create from file gives you a link checkbox. insert/object/further objects/from file gives you none.
