Surely not for OOo 2.0 (already too late for that). I hope it will make it into
2.0.1 (but I cannot tell).

The preview will not be regenerated or adapted when rescaled. But you can modify
the patch so that it generates a high-resolution image that should work even the
image is resized to fill the whole page.

You can experimet what density suits your needs (without actually applying the
patch) by using  "convert -density 300x300 file.eps preview.png" and then insert
that png. If 300dpi (horizontal & vertically) are not enough, you just use a
higher value for the density).
The drawback of the patch is that the preview is saved within the file
(=>filesize can increase dramatically depending on the density you choose) but
this is an advantage at the same time as other people that use an OOo without a
patch will be able to use these previews as well...
