Some technical considerations for a server which would host more than one
site/subdomains/projects:

LINUX vs. FreeBSD: Instead of Linux it could be used FreeBSD as on the current
surveys and ooauthors.org server. This allows for creating virtual machines on
the same phisical server that would run independently on different IP's.

This is so that we can run say Apache/PHP/MySQL on one virtual machine and on
another one say for example a Zope/Plone setup or other CMS.
They would have independent Apache setups and independent processes. If one gets
compromised, the other environments remain safe. Also, users access control is
tighter by virtual machine.

Other idea:
Supplementary, such a server/application could be setup to answer to two ways
of accessing it. First is services.ooo... type of URL and the secondary, to
allow pointing a domain name to the same machine and have the pages served from
the services.ooo subdomain. This allows for short names to easier remember but
in the same time will display everything from services.ooo domain.
