btw, if i drop -fomit-frame-pointer from cflags for
bridges/source/cpp_uno/gcc3_linux_intel it does not segfault. on one pentium4
system it segfaults with that cflag and on another pentium4 system this does not
segfault with that same cflag ... strange thing.
