I already had 1.9.109 installed.
I removed the OpenSymbol font and downloaded the corrected one from issue 45163
like you said. That did not solve the problem.
Then I removed the OpenSymbol font from the Fonts control panel applet,
uninstalled 1.9.109 and installed OOo1.9.110.
Still no luck.
When opening the font from the Fonts control panel applet, I see the same as
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/24226/opensymbolfont.png.
