If that turns into a feature request asking for "substitute fonts that look similar to X (assuming that there is enough descriptive information to know what X is)", or "Make sure font substitutions are the same as the version of the program the document was created with" I leave up to others. I'd vote for matching the substitution rules of the other programs, since crating tables for the various versions of other programs would end up with better results than another font matching algorithym which while being a better design, probably won't match the various programs either and only create another variation in itself.
