A new dictionary conforming to the OED (Oxford English Dictionary) style guide
has been created. This style is in use particularly by organisations such as:
International Red Cross
-> http://www.ifrc.org/publicat/commsguide/html/Extras/Style%20appendix.pdf
International Telecommunication Union
-> http://www.itu.int/sg-conf/general/styleguide.doc
World Trade Organization
-> http://members.wto.org/txt/english/bible.htm
A language tag exists for the style:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/lang-tags/en-GB-oed
It is based on British English but using internationally preferred spellings
where alternatives exist.
A dictionary package en_GB-oed.zip comprising:
en_GB-oed.dic
en_GB-oed.aff
README_en_GB-oed.txt
is being submitted for inclusion as an optional English dictionary for OOo.
Thanks
David
en_GB dictionary maintainer.
