Yes, that's correct: Selecting an object and opening the stylist correctly
selects the current style. However, I keep the stylist open all the time. So
when I switch between objects, I would have to open and close the stylist again
and again to see the current object's style. It would be much easier if the
stylist would react to a change in the selected object automatically.
On a side note: This issue is really handled inconsistently throughout the OOo
suite: Both Writer and Calc have an additional 'apply style' List box in the
formatting toolbar. This essentialy lists all style available in the stylist
*and * shows the style of the currently selected object (so basically what I'm
requesting for the stylist). On the other hand, Impress does not have such a
list box available for it's toolbar.
And, to drive my point one step further: Why - if the current style is shown in
the 'apply style' list box - is it not also reflected in the stylist (this does
not happen in any of the three applications)?

- sorry if I seem to be ranting, but I'd love to have this resolved consistently
for the whole OOo suite.
