2005 -------
Netware 6.5 SP3 File Server
Windows 2003 Terminal Server

Users have a mapped drive (U:) pointing to netware file server
OO2 paths must be stored on network share - not in c:\documents and
settings\user\application data - for numerous best practise reasons

Login to console as local administrator ( windows 2003 Terminal Server)
Install OO2 accepting all defaults
select tools - options - openoffice.org
Set various defaults - eg language settings and regional options.
edit "paths" to point to u:\openoffice.org2\user\autotext etc.

copy the entire subfolder set of c:\documents and settings\admin\application
data\openoffice.org2 to a network share

when a user logins in - login script copies above template to c:\documents and
settings\%user%\application data

goals:
Fully automated deployment for all users.
Please register screen must not be displayed be automated)
All defaults must be set for all users eg: file save as Office XP; languages,
dictionarys etc

Observed Results:
Above goals are met
u: drive paths are automatically correctly generated by openoffice on start up

however Openoffice is extremely unstable:
writer opens but navigating file toolbar highly unresponsive
launching calc from within writer - opens sheet - soffice.exe and soffice.bin
crashes within 5 seconds
Launching Calc from start menu - splash screen opens - progress bar fills to
the end - remains frozen on screen with full progress bar
End task soffice.exe and soffice.bin -
retry opening calc - Windows 2003 server blue screen

OpenOffice 1.1.3 is currently running in live environment configured as above
works perfectly - ie users install location is a mapped network location

There is no network congestion which could account for slow response of the
file menu.

Defaults (eg languages, toolbars etc) must be pre-configured for all users
User paths must be able to be set to mapped network locations.
