JA: a Cups server directly reads postscript printer description files like
OpenOffice.org does if Cups support is disabled (in OOo 1.1.x and in OOo 2.0 if
you define SAL_DISABLE_CUPS to a value >= 1). The entries within these PPD's are
usually created by printer manufacturers. If there are errors within the PPD
files then it's neither a problem of Cups nor it's a problem of OpenOffice.org.
Maybe within your PPD file for your printer there's an A0 definition but it's
unrelated to OOo. In OpenOffice.org 2.0 (currently Beta) printer properties are
read through Cups if Cups is available system wide. If you just see the generic
printer within the spadmin tool then there must be a problem regarding your Cups
server. Configurations made through the printer settings dialog within OOo are
being set for the document only. Application wide printer settings are done
within the 'spadmin' tool (for OOo only) which you can find within the program
directory of OpenOffice.org or you do these settings within the Cups
administration via browser (localhost:631) or via lpoptions command. I cannot
see anything related to the application. Closing again.
